West Ham United have offered Ben Johnson a new and improved five-year deal.

The 24-year-old full-back is out of contract at the end of this month and has attracted interest from Crystal Palace, Leeds United and Rangers.

The versatile defender has rejected multiple contract offers from West Ham, but they have offered Johnson improved terms to convince him to commit his long-term future to the club. Johnson is considering all his options.

The former England under-21 international previously failed to reach an agreement over a contract extension because he wants assurances about playing time.

Johnson only made 14 league appearances under former manager David Moyes in the 2023-24 season. Vladimir Coufal is West Ham’s first choice right-back, which has been a factor behind Johnson’s lack of game time. But new head coach Julen Lopetegui wants the full-back to stay.

Johnson won the young player of the year award in 2021 and won both the UEFA Europa Conference League and UEFA European U21 Championship in the summer of 2023.
