Unlocking New Possibilities: Moonveil to Launch Layer-2 Chain Testnet for Game Development

Moonveil, a leading Web3 game studio, has officially announced the launch of its gamer-centric Layer-2 Chain testnet. This move marks a major milestone in its mission to build a gaming ecosystem that is tailored to both players and developers. Powered by Polygon CDK and AggLayer, the testnet brings a range of features that have been designed to optimize performance, scalability, and security as will be seen below.

This new Layer-2 Chain leverages ZK-rollup technology which is initially from Polygon Zero. As such, it is able to facilitate faster transaction finalities, making it the world’s fastest ZK proof. Developers are among the group that are set to benefit from the modular design of the chain which distributes key functions such as transactions and oracles across layers. What this improvement means is that the operational costs will be reduced significantly and the network efficiency will get better. To add to it, game creators will also stand to have the ability to integrate new technologies with ease without disrupting the system.

M.J Wang, Co-Founder and CEO of Moonveil, expressed the company’s excitement over the testnet launch saying, “Moonveil is excited to announce the upcoming launch of our Layer 2 Chain testnet, a key step toward revolutionizing gaming with unmatched scalability and performance. Powered by Polygon CDK and AggLayer, this chain offers a fast, secure, and customizable solution for developers and gamers alike. Alongside the launch, our node sales will soon begin, inviting the community to be a part of this transformative journey.”

A major benefit that is at hand for the gamers is the reduction of the financial friction which is often associated with blockchain gaming. This is courtesy of the Polygon zkEVM framework that supports Moonveil’s testnet. By utilizing recursive STARK technology, developers are empowered to build diverse decentralized applications (dApps) and games without having to rewrite code, an aspect that in turn accelerates the development process.

Furthermore, an interoperability infrastructure that was co-developed by Polygon Labs, AggLayer, goes an extra step to enhance Moonveil’s offering by supporting cross-chain liquidity. The purpose of this infrastructure is to ensure a smooth interaction between different game products in the ecosystem. So, since the platform uses $MORE tokens as its gas tokens, it is able to eliminate the need for different tokens in gameplay, further cementing its smoothness when it comes to user experience. On top of that, developers are given the flexibility to create independent game environments, in turn improving the overall design and structure of their projects.

Unveiling Flaming Pets

Alongside the testnet, Moonveil has announced an upcoming release of Flaming Pets, an on-chain multiplayer strategy game set in a world of 25 enchanted castles. With an aim of going beyond an exciting and competitive gameplay experience, this game has been designed to serve as a testing ground for Moonveil’s Layer-2 technology.

Since its inception in 2022, Moonveil has managed to garner substantial financial support from the industry. For instance, it has raised $9 million in funding from investors that share in the vision of Moonveil. Some of the investors include Gumi Cryptos, Spartan Group, HashKey Capital, Animoca Ventures, Hivemind, and Mask Network. Having such a backing not only gives Moonveil a proper financial background but also positions it as a pioneer that seeks to enhance the web3 gaming ecosystem.
