Harvey Elliott tried to put an end to speculation linking him with a move away from Liverpool yesterday, as the talented attacking midfielder insisted he wants to stay at Anfield.
The England Under-21s midfielder’s future has been the subject of debate with his opportunities limited since Arne Slot took over as head coach last summer.
But asked about the recent speculation, Elliott said:
💬 “Liverpool is my club, Liverpool is my team. I want to fight for my place, fight for my position. I am going to do what it takes and help the team out when it’s possible.
“It’s down to me to put in the effort, the hard work, the desire, to achieve that. I am not going to give up. I am going to keep fighting and who knows what might happen.”
To be fair, Fabian Delph used the words ‘this is my club’ about two days before leaving Aston Villa to join Manchester City…
