Sevilla are set to agree a deal with Augsburg to sign Switzerland international Ruben Vargas.
The 26-year-old is set to sign a long-term deal with the Spanish club in an agreement that will bring an end to his five-and-a-half year spell at Augsburg, where he has scored 22 goals in 161 first-team appearances having joined from Swiss club Luzern in 2019.
Vargas missed a period of six weeks earlier in the season with an ankle injury and he has started just three Bundesliga matches this term for Augsburg, who are 13th in the Bundesliga.
The winger has been capped 50 times by Switzerland, for whom he has scored eight goals and has played for the nation at three major tournaments: Euro 2020, the 2022 World Cup and Euro 2024.
Sevilla, who are currently 14th in La Liga with 22 points from 18 matches, are next in action with a home league match against Valencia on January 11.
