Manchester United next manager live updates: Erik ten Hag sacked by Premier League side

It will be really interesting to see which of Ten Hag’s coaching staff, barring Ruud van Nistelrooy as interim, remain for the long term. Ten Hag appointed the new quartet himself over the summer but with him gone, where does that leave them? Their contracts run until 2026.

Van Nistelrooy’s fellow assistant manager Rene Hake (pictured) is a very good friend of Ten Hag’s and extremely loyal.

United’s technical director Jason Wilcox was the one who approached first-team coach Andreas Georgson. He was his former boss at Southampton.

Meanwhile, Dutch goalkeeping coach Jelle ten Rouwelaar had agreed in May to join Ajax before making a swift U-turn which kept him in England. He is said to have built up a good rapport with Andre Onana.

So all have their different connections with the club but presumably the new permanent manager will want to bring their own staff. So where does that leave the rest of them?
