Four IDW Comics Have Adaptations in the Works

The comic book publishing house IDW recently issued an investors’ report, and in its pages (via Bleeding Cool), we found out about four comics with screen adaptations in the works.

Those four titles are 2023’s Dungeon from Scott Snyder (Superman Unchained) and Hayden Sherman, 2019’s The Kill Lock by Livio Ramondelli, 2021’s The Delicacy by James Albon, and 2016’s Brutal Nature by Luciano Saracino and Ariel Olivetti.

Dungeon was part of Snyder and Sherman’s Dark Spaces project and centers on a family who moves to rural, upstate New York only to find a dungeon under their property with the warning, “Tell No One.” It’s getting a film adaptation with Spooky Pictures/Vertigo Entertainment.

The Kill Lock is written and drawn by Ramondelli and is a sci-fi tale centered around four robots banished from their home planets and bound by a kill lock: if one of them dies, they all do. It’s currently in development at Amazon as a television series.

The Delicacy centers on two brothers trying to make it in culinary London and discover a mushroom that catapults them to chef stardom. That fungus, however, has a dark side to its growth. It’s at Warner Bros. Television for a series adaptation.

Brutal Nature centers on a man named Ich who uses a series of masks to change into different beasts with different powers. His use of them starts a war between indigenous Colombians and the Spanish Empire. It’s at Anima Studios, a Mexico-based animation house to be made into a TV series.

Exciting stuff! We don’t have any additional news yet on these projects, however, including where they all are in the development phase and when we might see them on the screen. Hopefully we’ll more information on them sooner rather than later. icon-paragraph-end
