Fulham's Reiss Nelson expected to miss 10 weeks with hamstring injury

Fulham winger Reiss Nelson is expected to be out for the next 10 weeks due to a hamstring injury.

The 25-year-old, who is on a season-long loan from Arsenal, sustained the injury during Fulham’s 3-1 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion on December 5.

Fulham head coach Marco Silva confirmed the winger’s spell on the sidelines on Thursday.

He said: “It is difficult to have precise timings in this situation (injuries). Reiss Nelson is going to be longer. He’ll probably be out for around ten weeks.”

After a move to Ipswich Town failed to materialise, Nelson joined Fulham on loan from Arsenal on transfer deadline day in August, joining up with former Arsenal teammates Emile Smith Rowe, Alex Iwobi, and Bernd Leno.

He had begun to establish himself at Craven Cottage in recent weeks, starting Fulham’s last five Premier League games prior to his injury.

The wide player has scored two goals and provided one assist in 12 games in all competitions, making the left-wing spot in Silva’s starting XI his own.

Fulham are also without Joachim Andersen and Harrison Reed due to injury issues.

Fulham, who are 10th in the Premier League having held Arsenal to a 1-1 draw in their last outing, face league leaders Liverpool at Craven Cottage on Saturday.
